Every mid-market team we work with arrives carrying the same platform stack: a commerce engine, a separate CMS, a separate review tool, a separate loyalty platform, and a separate search engine. Five vendors, four data syncs, and a CTO who cannot answer "how does conversion change when a customer sees a review."
The pattern
It happens for a reasonable reason: each tool was selected by the team that needed it most. Merch picked the PIM, marketing picked the CMS, support picked the review tool. None of them was the wrong choice individually.
Consolidating without a replatform
You usually do not need to replatform. You need an integration layer that normalises events across the stack, plus a real product owner for the customer-data model. We have done this in 12-16 weeks for several teams.
