The challenge
A Magento 2 monolith handling multistore catalog, pricing, inventory, and fulfillment across regulated and non-regulated verticals. Flash-sale traffic spikes threatened checkout stability. ERP, POS, and PIM were loosely coupled, creating oversell risk and manual ops overhead. The client needed to scale without a full replatform — and without disrupting peak-season revenue.
The approach
We proposed an end-to-end delivery under one roof: no hand-offs between agencies, no integration risk between teams. Storefront, backend, mobile, and DevOps in parallel. We modernized the frontend with Hyvä Themes for Core Web Vitals performance while keeping the Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce core stable. Native iOS and Android apps shipped alongside the web platform.
The solution
Phase 1: Hyvä storefront replacing Luma — server-rendered, edge-cached, mobile-optimized. Phase 2: service-layer backend with event-driven sync to ERP, POS, and PIM. Phase 3: React Native apps for iOS and Android, sharing catalog and checkout logic with the web stack. Full multistore and multi-currency architecture across all brands on a single platform instance.
Results
Page load significantly faster post-Hyvä migration. Checkout completion improved across all storefronts. Oversell incidents reduced through real-time inventory sync. Engineering team moved from infrequent big-bang releases to continuous delivery on 2-week sprints. Platform sustained stability through peak-season flash sales across all markets.
